Tanzania is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and one of the poorest too.
We started mamasuzy.net after paying to volunteer three times in Tanzania. By the end of the third experience we wondered, where is the money going and what's changing?
Kiswahili is the national language of Tanzania. After listening to the locals, we heard the need to learn English to help with employment (hospitality ,IT, tourism…whatever) and the desperate plea for employment.
We buy quality hand made products from artisans and their communities, to support employment and self sufficiency.
We travel to where the need is greatest (I am the only one who sweats) to support as many communities as we can.
In Tanzania, we now support a linguistics school and sponsor individuals to learn English. The outcome is not only one person benefiting, the process has a rippling effect.
Continually guided by locals, mamasuzy.net will grow to what the communities involved want and need.
The idea has developed over three years. We are socially and sustainably committed.
Keep sharing in the wearing, life is short but giving back is an endlessly satisfying road of delight.
Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.
